The Green Mean SuperCar: The RMC Scorpion

Saturday, December 4, 2010

Opposed to the convention that Hybrid cars have to be slow and stupid, this is a cool exception. The Scorpion runs on 30-40% blend of hydrogen and gasoline, and promises increased efficiency (mileage) and reduced CO2 emission.
In one way it is completely unique. Although most other similar cars use fuel cells, this machine uses a hydrogen ICE (internal combustion engine) system. This is a similar procedure to converted engines for natural gas, but instead of using liquid gas, it uses hydrogen.
About emissions, this is reduced a lot as the only emission is water (no carbon in hydrogen). When it comes to looks, its glossy snake-type look, beautiful curves, side skirts and air scoops are just too hot. The car looks simple yet menacing, and i just love it.

The car is in prelauch, and is to be freed to customers this October.
These are the statistics of the car. Some are estimates as no official statements made yet.

Price: $150,000 (estimate)
Engine: 3.5 liter V-6
Top Speed: 200+ mph
Horsepower: 450
Torque: 302 lb-ft.
0-60 mph: 3.5 seconds
Mileage: 40+ mpg

Now with 40 miles per gallon and no emissions, and incredibly incredible look, this car is one super-sexy supercar.
