These are the latest spy pictures to have come out of the new Vauxhall/Opel Zafira. To be launched in 2012, the Zafira actually doesn’t have Meriva’s Innovative FlexDoor system. Meriva’s rear-hinged doors are practical and very distinctive but the carmaker believes that the engineering difficulties of fitting the same layout on a seven-seater are too much. The new Vauxhall Zafira is expected to be more grown-up and refined than its predecessors. Due to the success of its competitors, Vauxhall is forced to shape the Zafira into something that’s similar. Knives, side blade, grille and wing-shaped headlights round out the features. For its interior, the company is influenced by the upcoming Vauxhall Astra. Notably, Vauxhall’s mission is to move its MPV up a class, into Ford S-Max territory.
